Article updated at 27 Sep 2012

If you are interested to test the Windows Embedded Standard (further XP Embedded) on a Woodpecker or Robin Module you can download our Evaluation Image.

You can download an evaluation Image for Windows Embedded Standard from here: http://files.toradex.com/X86/Software/WES/Hidden/WES_WR_L_V2.0_Eval.zip

Install (suggestion):

  • Download the File.
  • Connect the target Hard Disk (SATA or IDE) or an USB Stick and prepare the disc to be a bootable device (go to disc manager, format to FAT32 or NTFS and set partition as active, make sure MBR is for XP)
  • unpack the ZIP-Archive to the root directory of the target drive (not your C:-Drive!).
  • connect the disc to your target.
  • Start up the board. The First Boot Agent will start and make the last configuration steps. From this point the evaluation time will count.

The system will automatically login to the account ‘Administrator’. The Password is ‘1234’

Please note, the image runs for about 90 days. Please keep in mind that if you install without a battery and then set the right time your evaluation time will expire.

If you like to build your own Windows Embedded Standard take a look to our Wiki. http://wiki.toradex.com/index.php/Windows_Embedded_Standard_(Woodpecker%2C_[..])

You can also directly download the driver Package from here: http://files.toradex.com/X86/Software/WES/Hidden/WES_WR_L_V2.0a_Package.zip
